I don't think Thanksgiving is the only thing that makes me grateful this time of year. Maybe it is the temporary departure of humidity, or maybe it is the kindness of so many dear friends making plans to celebrate my birthday with me, or perhaps it is because Blaine's schedule is calm before the storm of tax season begins which allows for coveted family time each evening and maybe it is the joy selecting perfect presents for my loved ones and planning visits to share those gifts; It is likely a bit of all of this, but it seems I always find a new sense of peace and gratitude in early November.
Each year, I think of how our fortune seems to overflow (not literal fortune :-) , and this year is no different. If I say it one time, I say it a thousand times a day, Logan is an absolute doll. She is such a good, happy child and brings so much laughter and joy to our home. I am so excited to experience the holidays with her this year....I'm such a kid at heart.
I could list many things each day that I am grateful for...far beyond the expected ones of our health, home, jobs. More like the little things....the moments that just make a day complete. This evening, I'm grateful for my mom. Not only because she makes me look so darn good (I couldn't do half of what I do without her!) and not only because I know she is furiously smocking a Christmas dress for Logan right now so she can wear it to The Tallahassee Ballet Kingdom of Sweets on Sunday and for our Christmas Card pics next week. No, I'm grateful tonight because she and my dad give Logan a loving environment to go to each day while we work. These are the pictures of Logan "baking" with Nana Boo yesterday. They made banana bread and peanut butter cookies to send up to the Boston boys (Bob and Brady), and while I was initially jealous that I was out in the rat race while she got to enjoy this time with Logan, I quickly checked myself and realized just how good life is...just the way it is!
Enjoy these pics of the munchkin I am most grateful for!
I'm pretty certain she is signing "all done" here. If we don't listen the first time each night at dinner when she does this, she just starts repeating "all done, all done, all done" and flipping her hands closer and closer to her daddy and I, like "DON'T YOU HEAR ME? I DON'T WANT ANYMORE OF THAT FOOD YOU ARE SHOVING AT ME!"
