Happy Tuesday, friends. I'm stuck in a book... this one....
... and my evenings have been absolutely consumed. I finally managed to rescue my Kindle back from Tax Man's capture {by giving him his own for our anniversary, though it doesn't have 3G and therefore is apparently not cool enough}. In any case, thought I should finish my thoughts about Labor Day 2011, especially since Shannon beat me to the punch on her
recap post. I was holding pictures hostage {yep, just like Tax Man and my Kindle} and she STILL managed to cobble one together!
So, if you live anywhere in the Southeast, you know the weather left a lot to be desired on this final weekend of summertime. And, to really put salt in {Tax Man's} wound, Tuesday after Labor Day - the day we all returned to reality - equaled gorgeous, sunny skies, with temps registering just around 80 degrees and not a drop of humidity to be found.
No tropical storm was going to put a damper on our fun on the 4th Annual Click/Grooters/Ginn Labor Day Getaway {that title needs a new name, friends}. Take six adults, six kids ages six and under and two babysitters {HALLELUJAH!} all in one house and you have a recipe for lots of laughter {and a bit of drinking!}. Catch up on our previous annual Family Fests
here and
here... check how the kiddos have grown {both in size and in numbers}.
Back to this year... pictures can tell the story....
| Indoor play consisted of countless games, dance parties, dress up and more TV then these kids are typically allowed to watch in a year! |
| We did manage a bit of time in the pool, sheltered from wind, between drizzles. |
| Aforementioned babysitters - or better known as Sister and Fiance. Not sure they will be having kids for many years... but they are welcome back to our Labor Day ANYTIME! |
| Thanks to those babysitters, grown ups had a delicious night out in Alys Beach. The boys will only ever remember the overpriced "Pommes Frites" {and I will say, the sauce with them did taste a lot like Guthrie's sauce, but I'm not complaining}. |
| The allure of Caliza is definitely the picturesque poolside dining. Unfortunately, it was a bit damp, so the ambiance was not quite what it could have been. But the company was fantastic and both the wine and laughter definitely abounded. |
| Most of our crew down on the beach. The wind was whipping and the sky was still dripping, but we did manage to slip out of the house for some impromptu wave play a few times. |
| Sweet beach baby Paige. |
| Jack! |
| Lu Lu - such a bathing beauty. I couldn't get her big sis to slow down enough for a beach photo. |
| Bathing suits were just steps away, but our time was limited between showers, so playing in "panty covers" did just fine for LE... |
| And Paigey... |
| Carson digging for clams. |
| And the obligatory end-of-the-trip bed shot of the kiddos. It was easier this year than ever before. |
| Make a silly face! |
Smiling as I wrap up with these photos. What a blessing good friends are! And, let the record show... Tax Man admitted earlier this week that he cheated during the annual Trivial Pursuit Challenge - he was on PEDs {that's Performance Enhancing Drugs}. He apparently drank a Red Bull while on a grocery run :). Oh yeah, babysitters are welcome back as I mentioned earlier.. but Fiance - you aren't allowed to play Trivial Pursuit on the boy's team any longer. You and Tax Man together are just brutal.

Thanks friend...enjoyed looking at the recap.
Thanks for including us...it was a fun weekend despite the storm! And no, Fiance & Blainey are never allowed to partake in Trivial Pursuit against the girls again, {unless he is on my team}!
