Fall is Falling?

Last week was a complete tease. The weather cooled off, the humidity disappeared and it felt as if fall was certainly here. But, in true Florida fashion, the heat came back, and combined with the rains it feels like a sauna every time I step outside.

The positive news about the summer-like weather, was that we were able to enjoy the first weekend of October in Apalachicola, FL. Despite the fact Grandpa Gary has a house in the fisherman's village, we stayed this time at the Gibson Inn, since the trip was on my company's dime. We spent the majority of the time with Grandpa though....including a day on St. George Island. It has been YEARS since Blaine or I had been there...pretty beach, but as the day progressed, the college crowd took over, making the beach a bit less family friendly (as in I found myself giving kids dirty looks for their language. When did I get so old?!?).

Here are a few pics of what is likely our last beach weekend for the summer/fall.

Wearing a bow at the beach :-).

Still loves playing with the buckets and shovels.

It really was a beautiful day and the lighthouse makes a lovely backdrop.

She liked the calmer waters of this beach, but still didn't love the sand on her hands.

We brought baby #1 with us too.

Logan went for a walk on the beach with Grandpa, and fell asleep sitting up like this.

Napping beach babies are the best! We were able to stay on the beach longer and relax instead of having to go back to the Inn for naptime.

Love this sweet girl.

Sandy, sandy! Thanks Grandpa for letting the beast stay with you during the weekend.
